These practices are especially supportive in the morning, before getting dressed. Yet they can be done anytime — whenever you feel the need to reconnect with yourself and your wardrobe. Here are a couple simple ways to get started.
Clear a Physical Space
Choose a clear, quiet space — no need for anything fancy. A small cushion, a chair, or even a spot on your bed is enough. If you like, place a garment that feels meaningful nearby — let it serve as your anchor or inspiration.
Set the Tone
Light a candle or incense if it helps create calm. Shifting the atmosphere before you begin can signal to your body and mind that something is changing — that this is a moment of pause, presence, and intention. -
There’s no one right way to sit. On a cushion, in a chair, lying down, legs crossed or feet flat — choose whatever supports you. Let your spine gently lengthen, your shoulders soften, and your hands find a natural resting place — palms up as a gesture of receiving, or palms down as a gesture of grounding. The best posture is one you can easily breathe in.
